Wish - 2D Pencil Test
It took me a week to do this animation on paper, this is Valentino from the Disney's latest movie, Wish, that was originally supposed to be the return of 2d animation for Disney, turned out they choose 3d once again. I was a bit pissed so I wanted to see the characters animated in the old Disney way!
While the AI is taking over the art industry, I'm trying to go back to the roots of the animation medium and try to animate on paper, haven't done it much, cause I'm a millennial and I've been using a drawing tablet since 2005 but I love the magic of moving lines on paper, this is what hooked me into learning to animate, self-thought, wasn't easy. I'm naive enough to hope that people will enjoy art being done my hand instead of drooling at a computer doing the art for us. We can feel when something is created with soul and hard work, and most importantly, passion.
