Romantic female monologue | Brooklyn movie
This is my take on a scene from the film Brooklyn.
About Brooklyn: Eilis, a young Irish girl, lands in 1950s Brooklyn and soon gets used to the freer life. She falls in love with Tony, who hails from an Italian family. However, a tragedy befalls her back home. Brooklyn is a 2015 romantic period drama film directed by John Crowley and written by Nick Hornby, based on the 2009 novel of the same name by Colm Tóibín.
Starring :
Saoirse Ronan
Domhnall Gleeson
Emory Cohen
Jim Broadbent
Julie Walters
Performing in this monologue: Anna Albie
Monologue:
"Do you remember when I had dinner at your house and...um...and you told me that you loved me? Well, um, I didn't really know what to say but I... I know what to say now. I have thought of you and I do like you and I... I like spending time with you and maybe I...I feel the same way too. And so the next time you tell me that you love me...if there is a next time... I'll tell you that I love you too. "
