Deepfakes are fabricated and false media in which a person in an image or video is replaced with another person's likeness. Deepfakes are created by using a technique called #GAN (Generative Adversarial Network), which includes adversarial and perceptual layers. These layers collect latent face traits such as eye moments by us auto encoder to decoder technique.
#Deepfakes are produced through face swapping, animating facial expressions, digitally generated sounds, or using fake human faces.
It's not easy to detect deepfakes. It has become difficult for the human eye to detect deepfakes. But meanwhile some researchers are working on finding ways to recognize depfakes.
