Susannah Grant is an American screenwriter, producer, and director. She is best known for writing the screenplay for the 2000 biographical drama film "Erin Brockovich," which was directed by Steven Soderbergh and starred Julia Roberts in the titular role.
Grant was born on January 4, 1963, in New York City and grew up in Chappaqua, New York. She studied at Amherst College and later attended the American Film Institute in Los Angeles, where she earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in screenwriting.
In addition to "Erin Brockovich," Grant has written several other acclaimed films, including "Pocahontas," "The Soloist," and "In Her Shoes." She has also worked extensively in television, creating and producing the series "A Gifted Man," "The 13 Reasons Why," and "Unbelievable," among others.
Grant has received numerous awards and nominations for her work, including an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay for "Erin Brockovich." She is known for her insightful and empathetic approach to storytelling, often exploring complex social issues with nuance and sensitivity.
