My first 3rd Strike match at a local venue in a arcade, not my first 3rd Strike match, but the first one to be at a Genuine Cabinet. One cool thing to note about these cabinets is that they were modded so you can plug in your own controller/arcade stick.
This was recorded in October 30th 2021 by my good friend BrianX_02,I currently live in AZ, very far away from my hometown in Mex, I was struggling with Separation Anxiety, Homesickness and Loneliness from being so far away from my town, my friends and family are there, I'm all by myself and alone in AZ, I often feel depressed and anxious because of it, everyday after school I would feel very tired and sad when I get to my department, I would always just go to bed and take a nap. But my good friend BrianX_02 came all the way from Mex, he spent money and time just to visit me and honestly I couldn't be more happier, I felt so happy and good these 4 days he came to visit me, I haven't laughed so hard and smiled so much since my vacations in summer of 2021, I was really feeling bad and helped me.
Through a Mex 3rd Strike server on Discord, Some friends in there showed me this arcade that was in Tempe, AZ and they told me I should go there to check it out, since I'm the closest one there, so when Brian came it was the perfect time to do so, we went on October 30th and we both had so much fun, we played a lot of DDR, MvC2 and we had a DBFZ match with some of the players there, my friend Brian afterwards bought a Cirka SNES USB controller which he connected it to his phone but for some unknown weird reason, the R Button didn't work.
The arcade buttons and lever felt weird to me, because I'm used to using a Mayflash F300 arcade stick, so the arcade buttons felt a lot more tactile and the lever felt more loose and smoother, I got the hang of it after some minutes warming up.
The arcade is TheGamingZone at 930 W Broadway Rd #5, Tempe, AZ 85282. They host FG and Smash Tournaments regularly in there, so it's highly recommended to anyone near Tempe to check it out at any given chance.
Thank you Brian for spending time with me, you really helped me out in a time where I've touched rock bottom as many times as I have done before, you helped me out better than any therapist, I can now manage to go through the rest of my Month and Half until next Break from school and work, I hope to see everyone in TheGamingZone and my Hometown soon.
