Alumni Club Sparks Student Interest in Science at Stone Lab
A one-day field trip to Stone Laboratory helped Addie Foster decide what she would do after high school: She’ll join Buckeye Nation and pursue a career to promote a healthy environment.
“I will be studying environmental science at Ohio State. The trip helped me know for sure that I wanted to help the Earth and leave it better than it was before,” said Foster, who graduated this year from Huron High School in Erie County.
Foster went to Stone Lab on a scholarship program from the Ohio State University Alumni Club of Erie County, which since 2019 has taken about 70 students from seven local high schools on field trips to Gibraltar Island.
