Cisco Testimonial: Lee Finds his Path in IT through our Cisco Networking Academy
When Lee first started his classes at our Cisco Networking Academy, he was unsure of the path his life would take. But he showed a deep curiosity in coursework and was happy to help whenever called upon. Months later, he joined our team as Volunteer in the Cisco Academy. Lee has grown in leaps and bounds. He now assists with tutoring his peers at the Academy. Recently, he enrolled in classes to serve as Assistant Cisco Instructor. We are happy to see Lee discover his career path and passion.
Our ERC Cisco Networking Academy is the first in Kilifi County and one of the first in the Coast province of Kenya. It is Elimu’s solution for providing a hands-on digital experience to prepare youth, especially after high school graduation, for future study and work in the modern job market. Students pursue courses online at their level and at their own pace under the guidance of our Cisco-certified instructor. Graduates receive an official internationally-recognized Cisco certificate. Many have used their Cisco certificates to find work in the community. Others have discovered a passion for technology and continued on to further studies in IT.
Elimu is building a learning community in Kenya empowering vulnerable learners of all kinds in achieving their educational and work-related goals. We partner with the community to increase academic and technological literacy, improve primary and secondary school retention rates and encourage self-sustainability among young graduates.
