Having Ulcerative Colitis or any form of IBD means you're likely dealing with either weight loss or weight gain.

Lots of people with IBD struggle with weight gain or weight loss. If you are not currently in a bad flare, there are certain exercises and foods that will help you achieve your physique goals. Typically these ups and downs are caused by changes in dietary patterns, medication, losing nutrients through a leaky gut and other issues

Gaining Weight

To gain weight, you must follow an anti-inflammatory diet full of probiotics and prebiotics. This way, if any nutrients are being lost through a leaky gut, food will restore your gut balance. 

Losing Weight

Losing weight with IBD can be hard, since symptoms of stomach pain, fatigue, and urgency can make the gym an undesired destination. Just 20-30 minutes of light activity will help you burn calories and feel endorphins from your workout. By working out indoors, you can always have a bathroom nearby. Try to work out at the time of day where you feel your best.
