Each student in the 3rd year of the Studio Arts Program is assigned an external tutor who is an established professional in the Barcelona arts scene. The external tutor meets up with the student and guides them and gives them useful insight which will hopefully prove to be very helpful as they transition into the role they intend to take once their stay at Metàfora is over.
Based on the student’s trajectory, the external tutor could be an established artist who works in a similar field, or has a relatable artistic discourse, a gallerist, a curator or cultural agent. The external tutor selection is done in tandem with the student, in fact, the student often chooses an ideal tutor, and Metàfora makes it happen.
