The word ‘karma’ has originated from the Sanskrit root ‘kri’ which means ‘to do’ or ‘to ‘act and react.
Kama yoga is very important because we spent most of the time at work, so it becomes really important that we spiritualize the work. Karma yoga makes everything spiritual.
The intention when practicing karma yoga is to give selflessly for the good of others without thought of one's self or attachment to the results of one's actions. Acting in this way is considered the right way to approach service and it is said to purify the mind.
Human beings are said to produce karma in four ways:
through thoughts
through right attitude words
through actions that we perform ourselves
through actions, others perform under our instructions
Hindu scriptures divide karma into three kinds:
1) Sanchita Karma - It is the accumulated karma. It would be impossible to experience and endure all karmas in one lifetime. It is the karma from the past.
2) Prarabdha - It is responsible for the life which we are experiencing now.
3) Kriyamana - It the current karma. The actions we will do now will affect our future.
