Searching for live termites in flat wood
I used my vacuum cleaner and a funnel to try and find live termites in my wood subfloor. I don't know if this is foolproof. Maybe the termites hang on real tight. Since I found none, I will try again in a year and if there are live ones there they will have created more droppings.
