Axial Capra Christmas Upgrades - Hobbywing Quicrun Fusion & Sparetime Hobbies Flat Bottom Skid
Here at Matt's Hobbies we hope your Christmas 2021 and 2022 New Year were awesome! We certainly enjoyed ourselves, and definitely had some indoor fun working on upgrades (stay tuned because Tim's SCX24 upgrade is a whopper!!)
In this vid I started by grinding away at the stock skid, only to realize this is not going to work, and I will need another skid. (Link to the video that led me to this solution: • Hobbywing Fusion All in One Motor & ESC in... ) The Spartime Hobbies Skid (and Dig Servo Mounting Kit, sold separately) totaled about $40 if I recall, so it was much less than the Vader or Vanqush or Treal solutions. The Quicrun was about $160, so $200 in upgrades - putting that in perspective, Mrs. Matt's Hobbies' used SCX10 II was $180 RTR. This brings my total RTR + repairs + upgrades cost to about $1k.
Now I will need to make a new current build, because the one listed below is now outdated 😂
