Today is Our Lady of Aparecida's day in Brasil. I decided to go out to Urca and show you Praia Vermelha (Red Beach). It is a great location because there is lots of shade and areas to sit and rest. The beach is very small and intimate and the view is gorgeous. There is also a nice restaurant there called Terra Brasilis. We celebrated a friend's birthday there. Make a reservation or arrive early to get in line. It is very popular and will fill up fast!

The famous lift to the Pão de Açúcar mountain is in this area as well. I haven't developed the courage to make the trip up there yet, but it is a very popular tourist attraction. The link to the website is here:
