Tween and span are widely used surfactant in pharmaceutical industry. Many times, people do not understand the differences in properties of the two materials, thus wasting a lot of time in selection of suitable surface active agent or their combination. Understanding the nature of these two materials will definitely help the formulators to ease their task. In this video I have also captured a easy way of calculating a combination of surfactants to achieve desired HLB value.
