K-values Matching in EIGRP Routing protocol:
EIGRP uses a formula involving the K-values (metrics) to calculate the best path to a destination. For neighbor-ship to form, routers must have matching K-values, including bandwidth, delay, reliability, load, and MTU settings.
This formula changes a little bit in classic configuration and named based configuration. Classic configuration was developed long time ago by Cisco (Prior to 2013, EIGRP was a Cisco-proprietary routing protocol, meaning it was only supported on Cisco devices.) nowadays this protocol is smarter and can support more K values. the multiplier also changed from 256 to 65536.
