Im hiking this 16 KM trail at Papandayan National Park trail in West java. Indonesia. This is been my seventh time hiking this trail. This mountain is volcano active. The trail is kinda short, its like 90 minutes hiking nonstop from the registration base to the campsite.
This mountain is always my go to recommendation for someone who new to hiking. Because its easy to hike but the view is... 👌😘. And there are many place to go when you get there... there's dead forest, there’s sunrise cliff, and campsite called Pondok Salada. And also the Summit, the top of Papandayan mountain, called Tegal Alun. it’s like 30 minutes hike from the campsite 🏕 🔥.
But there is a downside... because the easiness and amazing view of this mountain. It makes this trail popular among hiker, so check the date if you want to hike this mountain. If you don't like crowded camping mountain Avoid big holiday and weekend.
And i think we got lucky compare to the last time i visit this trail. maybe because this whole lockdown thing, so after the new normal regulations applied, this trail is back reopen after 3 months shutdown.. also i want to mention because of this covid situation , there is new requirement for entering this trail.. every hiker must bring rapid test result document..
the good thing is, because the shutdown the ecosystem nature in this trail is like revived.. (be born again) every thing seem so clean.. the grass is green. it’s just pretty.. 😍
