In this webinar, Dr. Stuart Chalk, Technical Editor of the IUPAC Gold Book, talks about the history, updates, semantics and future directions of the IUPAC Gold Book and how early-career chemists can get involved and actively contribute to it.

Stuart describes how IUPAC takes the work of the last 50 years, by over 2000+ volunteers, through their formal definition of chemical concepts in IUPAC Recommendations (https://iupac.org/what-we-do/recommen...) and reimagine it to support machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) through semantic knowledge representation. The webinar follows the IUPAC Compendium of Chemical Terminology, more commonly known as the 'Gold Book' (https://goldbook.iupac.org), and how its evolution will translate into a revolution.
