A brief history of Artificial Intelligence (AI)
John McCarthy studied automata and first coined the term artificial intelligence. McCarthy worked with IBM and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to form artificial intelligence as a domain of research.
McCarthy was also responsible for the creation of the LISP programming language. LISP was applied to fraud detection, website design and
robotics - all of these are AI endeavours. LISP was one of the advancements that allowed for the adoption of AI systems.
