Meditation - All That I Am
William Himes, Bandmaster of the Chicago Staff Band of the Salvation Army, has composed and arranged dozens of selections for brass band; All That I Am is one of his most stirring and beautiful. Written after Himes' wife was diagnosed with terminal cancer, All That I Am (combined in this arrangement with another hymn, I Surrender All) reflects a message of trust, love and devotion. One of the verses reads: Take every passion, every skill/take all my dreams, and bend them to your will/My all I give, Lord, for you I'll live, Lord/Come what may.
