NWMN AFLC Mid Winter Bible Conference: Swords, Scrolls, and Sanctuaries, #1
Westaker is pleased to host the 2025 NorthWest Minnesota AFLC District Mid-Winter Bible Conference. This year we're going to take a look at some ancient Christian history and we're going to ask the question: "How did the Bible guide the early church?" We're please to have with us Pastor Andrew Kneeland from the Free Lutheran Bible College and Seminary to answer that question for us.
Our first session is Friday night and Pastor Kneeland has titled this evenings session "Swords: How the Word upholds those suffering." This evening Pastor Kneeland will talk to us about why history matters, he'll give us a snapshot of what the church was like in AD 100 and he'll share stories of some of our forefathers in the faith like Theophilus of Antioch, Polycarp, Justin Martyr and others.
We won't only be studying history though. We're going to look at what the Bible has to say about suffering and the promises that it gives us in the midst of suffering. The example of the early church, and their reliance on the Word in the midst of their struggles will be light to us in the midst of ours.
