The Art of BLACK MATERIA: REMAKE | PART 2 ~ By Mega Ran, Lost Perception & Gamechops
Created digitally, in this video, I chronicle from the finished line art to the final full-coloured front cover of this project.
Artwork commissioned by Mega Ran for the remake of his seminal BLACK MATERIA album, the ultimate tribute to Final Fantasy VII and hip hop, all rolled up into one.
You can find my artwork on the front of the instrumental album and displayed across both sides of the gatefold sleeve of the interior of the sold-out Vinyl version. For those who love this game, you will know the scene that I chose to illustrate; a rather fitting tribute piece to the very end of the game, to mark the final return to the Black Materia album for Mega Ran... a fitting send-off I think.
Creating the art for this project was such an undertaking, that I have split up the time-lapses for it into 3 parts; be sure to check out the final follow-up to this one soon!
