In August 2022, it was three years since the tragic death of Mikhail Abramov, a Russian entrepreneur, philanthropist, and founder of Russia's first private Museum of Russian Icons.
He was only 55 years old, and for almost twenty years, he had been collecting Byzantine and Old Russian icons.
In 2006, the collection expanded beyond the confines of a private home, leading to the establishment of the Museum.
