Google Drive in Linux Mint
Access your Google Drive directly from the Linux file explorer — no extra software needed. Works on Linux Mint and I show how to do it on other distros as well!
In this video I show how to connect your Google account using the built-in “Online Accounts” feature. After signing in once, your Google Drive appears in the file explorer (Nemo) under “Network” and can be used like a normal folder.
This means:
No sync tools
No complicated setup
No terminal required
Just log in and your files are there. Linux users should have the same seamless desktop experience as everyone else — including easy access to cloud storage.
I also show a small technical tip using xprop to identify system windows and how to launch the GNOME Online Accounts settings directly.
The same method works on many Linux distributions that support GNOME Online Accounts.
