The passing of George Floyd was an avoidable tragedy in a string of events that marks the character of our country’s broken police and prison system plagued with the mistake of dispensing justice according to a toxic value system, outside the realm of judicial rights and deliberation.

The poem is author Youssef Alaoui’s take on the situation with images of a system that is rotting on regurgitated, sugary Kinkade style fantasies, while imagining dying along with Floyd. The sugar comes back. "The devil is pure sugar, don’t you know…" THE DEVIL COMES BACK.
