Few images can provide an insight as to the horrors of WW2 as well as the photo called simply “Warsaw Ghetto Boy”. We see a group of Jews been forced out of a building at gunpoint in which they were hiding. Front and centre is a young boy, arms raised with an SS officer stood behind with a sub machine gun pointed towards the child. The photo was taken during the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, an armed conflict between the N@zis and Jewish occupants of the ghetto, in defiance to efforts to deport thousands to the Treblinka Death Camp. In today’s video, we will cover the events that led up to the Warsaw Uprising and the fates of those in a photo that is but a single snapshot of the Holocaust.
