THRONE AND LIBERTY - Shaikal KILL (50 Cursed Wasteland boss) | Ravager POV
GLOBAL LAUNCH. LEVEL 50. CURSED WASTELAND. RAVAGER POV.
2,396 Ravager DPS (dagger/GS). This boss is probably the TOUGHEST for pick up groups. BUT DO NOT WORRY, I will help you understand the mechanics well enough to adapt on the fly and conquer this boss!
Mechanics:
-purple orb / red orb
-gates
-2 players always need to stay in melee or boss constantly AoEs
-stuff on the ground, move out of it
Positioning before the fight: The tank should take the right quadrant and the rest of the group and stay in the first middle quadrant. This is always the distribution (you only need this much of a spread). Only two gates need to be activated at a time (not all 3).
MARK THE TANK. It helps the fight to keep track of where the tank is. The rest of the group should always be 1 quadrant shifted over from the tank.
Orb mechanic explained: THE MOST IMPORTANT ORB COLOR IS PURPLE. BOSS STARTS OFF WITH A PARRY THEN 10-15 SECONDS LATER USES THIS PURPLE ORB MOVE. He will put a PURLPLE ORB OVER THE HEAD OF THE CLOSEST PLAYER. This will usually go on the tank, but daggers get close enough as well. Also, the tank will be knocked back sometimes, so it will go to the next closest melee. Be ready to adapt if you can't control it to go to the tank every time.
Assign the same people to get the gate down for the purple orb phase each time, since the purple orb goes on the melee or tank it will be consistent each time.
ONCE YOU GET THE PURPLE ORB, POSITION YOURSELF ON THE CLOSEST WALL TO YOUR RIGHT, WAIT FOR THE BOSS TO START SPRAYING THE PURPLE, THEN RUN AROUND LEFT 270 DEGREES AND WAIT FOR THE WALLS TO COME BACK. The rest of the group should be 120 degrees rotated from the purple orb runner as they turn the boss spray. Always stay 1 quadrant over from the tank.
TIP1- IF you rotate too quickly with the pruple orb, the boss will START his spray farther around the turn, meaning you might have to open all 3 gates. To minimimze this, WAIT until he starts spraying to rotate around him.
TIP2 - Math is your friend, you have a shorter distance to run the closer you are to the boss when you have the purple orb. CIRCLE THE BOSS RIGHT ON HIS FEET WITH THE PURPLE ORB.
TIP3 - Be ready to ADAPT. The orb can shift if tank gets knocked back, or the direction of rotation can change, be ready to mirror the strategy in either direction.
The boss will sometimes also put a RED ORB on players, this will drop a red vortex on the ground. Run it to the back, and not near the gate dropping spike.
At 25% or less HP the boss will do TWO ORBS EACH TIME. TWO RED, AND BACK TO BACK PURPLE (2X TOTAL). BE READY TO ROTATE TWICE IN THE FINAL PHASE, DO NOT GET THE DOORS EARLY OR THEY WILL BE ON COOLDOWN.
This boss fight was GNARLY. LOVED IT. Of all the dungeon bosses, this one took the longest to get the kill, but was by far THE MOST FUN TO LEARN.
