Disaster Recovery Through Placemaking
LC Clemons and new urbanist colleagues reported on planning work in Western North Carolina that leverages placemaking to help communities recover from the devastation of Hurricane Helene. The discussion included a tactical neighborhood hub deployment and the need for a new urbanist response as a necessary first step in a more equitable and just long-term recovery.
