Isle of Skye is a famous tourist destination in Scotland and was on my to go list for a while. And this Easter break I got the opportunity to explore it - thanks to my friends who took me with them on a trip with their motorhome.
It’s about 5 hours drive from Edinburgh to the Isle of Skye, but we started our trip late afternoon, and stopped to see the dam in Perth, so we decided to sleep at Fort William and then continue our way to the island tomorrow. It was 3 of us and a dog - his name is Gomesh, and he’s a cute mix of Staffie and Spanish podenco. Gomesh is a featured star of this video - you’ll see him a lot!
The coolest thing about traveling in the motorhome is that you can sleep almost anywhere - as long as there’s no “overnight parking” restrictions there. First night we slept just under Ben Nevis - in a little parking by Ben Nevis inn. And in the morning we saw all these people going to go to the top of the highest Scottish Munro, and I was a bit jealous to be honest - I would like to climb it as well, it’s on my list too. But well - for the next time. Now our goal is Skye.
