Precision vs. Jazz Bass: Who Wins?
In this video, we're going to talk about bass guitars: two iconic models, the Precision and the Jazz Bass, which set the standards in bass design and manufacturing from their creation in 1951 to the present day.
We'll look at a bit of history, analyze why they're so important, what distinguishes them, the bassists who played them, typical sound configurations, and I'll give my opinion on these two basses, with the pros and cons of each.
🤷 Correction: In the video, I mistakenly say that the scale length of Tutmarc's Audiovox Bass is 42". The correct information is that the total length of the instrument is 42" and the scale length is 30.5". To give you an idea, a short-scale bass currently measures 32". The Tutmarc is 1.5" shorter.
