How to Fix “Variable uses an Automation type not supported" Error in VBA Editor in Excel for Mac

In Excel for Mac there's a bug in the VBA Editor that prevents you creating "event-driven macros".

When you click the drop-down arrow at the top of the code window and select Workbook or Worksheet, you get the following error:

"Variable uses an Automation type not supported in Visual Basic"

This error has been present since a new VBA Editor was introduced in 2017!

In this video I'll show you 3 workarounds and provide you with a file that contains all you need to get round this roadblock
