This is a screen capture and the macro actions that launch my daily work on macOS. It's an example of a very simple Keyboard Maestro macro (I do a LOT more complicated things with KM, and others do far more than I). Sometimes I watch the macro run just because it's satisfying.
And, yes, I'm a total geek.
