A WHISKEY Drink Inspired By a Famous Old Hollywood Bar | Mixed Messages
Join mixologist Clare Ward as we toast to the Golden State, making fancy drinks for regular people inspired by California culture, spirits and ingredients. First up is the Brown Derby, a drink that originated at the Vendome Clubs on Sunset Boulevard in the 1930s.

The Brown Derby
2 oz. whiskey
1 oz. fresh grapefruit juice
1/2 oz. honey syrup
1/2 oz. apple cider vinegar
Combine ingredients, add ice, and shake until very cold. Strain into cocktail glass—we recommend a coupe— and serve!
