This video is especially targeted to system administrators or DevOps engineers who are working in a Website development company and providing system, and network support to various clients around the world. The clients may be unaware of where their website is hosted and you want to help them.
There are various ways and plenty of tools to find out the hosting provider of a website. But for me, the easiest tool is the ‘whois hosting extension’ for Google Chrome.
You can install it by searching it on the Google search engine as whois hosting extension for chrome. Click on the link that is on the top of the search result–chrome.google.com, detail, who-is-hosting blah blah. Check if you see an icon similar to the one that is displayed on my screen to choose the right tool. Then click on the add to chrome button and click on the add extension button. Now, wait for a while till the extension is installed on the chrome browser.
The extension is installed. Next, you might want to pin the extension. For this, open any website on the chrome browser, on the top right corner of the Chrome browser, click on this icon which display a list of all the installed extensions, find the whois hosting extension and click on the pin icon. This will pin the extension on the browser so that it is visible on the screen and easily accessible.
Now, to find the hosting provider of a website, open the website on the chrome browser and simply click on the whois hosting extension after the site is fully loaded.
