We Welcome Dr. Laxman Murugesh, affectionately known as Lucky, an accomplished semiconductor engineer and technologist from Silicon Valley. Born and raised in Visakhapatnam, Laxman embarked on his academic journey at Timpany School in 1976, later earning his engineering degree from Andhra University. In 1988, he ventured to the United States to pursue further studies, achieving both his Master's and Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley.
Laxman's groundbreaking work played a crucial role in the development of advanced SCRAM jet engines, a technology marvel recently featured in the opening scene of the Hollywood blockbuster "Maverick," starring Tom Cruise. These engines, powering the world's fastest plane, the X33 jet, represent a pinnacle of engineering achievement.
With over three decades of innovation in Silicon Valley, Laxman has been at the forefront of creating new materials and technologies for advanced semiconductors that are fundamental to our cell phones, laptops, and cutting-edge technologies. His contributions have earned him 41 patents, and he has lent his expertise to legendary companies such as Applied Materials and Intel, which have been pivotal in shaping the information age and the advancement of AI.
Beyond his engineering feats, Laxman is an accomplished photographer with a passion for wildlife, landscapes, and astrophotography. His work aims to inspire us all to protect our planet and wildlife for future generations.
