The song was written by Harry Warren and Mack Gordon. It was originally intended for Glen Miller Orchestra to launch in the movie “Sun Valley Serenade” but only snippets were used in that movie. A year later, singer/actors Ray Eberle and Pat Friday established the song as an American Songbook standard in the next Glen Muller movie “Orchestra Wives”.
At Last was made immortal (in my opinion) in 1960 by R&B singer Etta James and her version was inducted into Grammy Hall of Fame in 1999.
