Howdy! This is a Plug & Play demonstration of the Official Fortin Meshuggah profiles, created in collaboration with Replicant Audio, Jocke Skog, and Mike Fortin. This is an amp I've always wanted to try, even though I'm hopelessly unworthy of it. However, now we have these Kemper profiles, so I thought I would give it a whirl. I really do enjoy these profiles; I'm looking forward to seeing how these sit in a mix. I got kind of lost while testing these, so I apologize for the long runtime. I hope that if I keep doing these, I can tighten this up a bit.
How I Tested: Each profile is being tested as it came out of the proverbial box. There is no post-processing on these, nor did I add any effects. No gates, no boosts, no eq.
Each profile has a DIST block and an EQ block that are disabled when you load the profile. The DIST is very complimentary to the lower gain profiles or the "boost" profiles, but it was a bit excessive on some of the higher gain profiles. The EQ is the Metal Equalizer effect, and it is only there to round out bottom and top (low cut and hi cut, respectfully). Each profile's EQ block seems to be tailor-made for that profile (there is a Low and High cut for each, as well as a specific Mid frequency dialed in), but there are no boosts or cuts beyond the aforementioned to Bass, Mid, or Treble. I highly recommend experimenting with these. Noise was never enough of an issue that I felt I needed a gate for this video, but I would absolutely put one in for recording purposes.
Specs and such:
I'm using a Jericho Edge 8, equipped with Fishman Fluence Tosin Abasi pickups. On the volume control, I have a push/pull for Voice 2, and I have Voice 3 as a push/pull on the Tone (I use this at the end for the cleaner tones).
