If we want to count how many times a specific character appears in a cell, then it is not possible directly. COUNT or COUNTIF can count in a range of cells, but not within a single cell. This video demonstrates how we can count occurrence of a certain character present in a single cell. It also demonstrates if a cell contains a formula, then also how can we count number of times that particular character occurs. To demonstrate solution, a problem of finding number of + is taken and its solution is discussed step by step.
