Kashaka is one of many names for this instrument, also known as Asalatua, Aslatua, Asalato, Cas Cas, Kes Kes, Kosh Kash, Kush Kosh, Kosika, Patica & many more. Kashaka originate in West Africa, traditionally using gourds made from dried fruit.
These Kashaka are a modern and very strong version. The completely spherical strong plastic balls, all with equal sizes, shapes and equally balanced filling helps with the ability to control and to play more advanced kashaka skills.
