In this tutorial i show you how to make delicious eggnog, traditionally a "holiday" drink, which can actually be made year-round.

YOU WILL NEED:

-6 eggs or one and a half cups of an egg substitute
-2 cups of heavy whipping cream
-2 cups of Whole milk (doesnt really matter what percent)
-1/2 tsp of salt
-1/2 tsp of vanilla extract
-1 cup of sugar
-brandy, rum, whiskey, bourbon, or cognac (if you want them to be alcoholic beverages)
-nutmeg (for use as a garnish)
-whipped cream (used as a garnish)
-2 mixing bowls, one large cooking pan
-1 whisk
-measuring cups and spoons

For a lowfat eggnog, use 3 cups of lowfat milk, and one can of evaporated milk...

Step 1: Beat the eggs in mixing bowl.

Beat the 6 eggs or 1 1/2 cups of egg substitute until foamy.

Step 2: Add sugar and salt

Beat in the 1 cup of sugar and 1/2 tsp of salt until the nog is thick. It will be a pale yellow color.

Step 3: Pour from mixing bowl into pan, setting pan on stove at low to medium heat.

Step 4: Stir in the milk/cream

Stir in 1 cup of milk and 1 cup of heavy whipping cream with the flame still on on the stove. Continue mixing

Step 5: Stir in 2nd cup of milk/cream and 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract

Once at the consistency that coats a metal spoon, turn flame off, and mix in a 2nd cup of milk / heavy whipping cream, along with 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract. You may also add in alcohol at this point if want the whole batch to be alcoholic.

Step 6: Pour into bowl, chill.

Once everything is mixed in, pour from pan into second bowl, and put in fridge. Leave in there overnight or for at least 4-5 hours (until it is completely cold).

Step 7: Serve and Enjoy.

sprinkle a dash of nutmeg and maybe whipped cream on top, and add alcohol if desired, unless you've already done so in step 5
