I have had my multicolor 3d printer for almost a year now and while they are great for bigger 3d printed objects, they are not so great for smaller 3d printed objects as you will see in the video. Purge wastage for multicolor 3d printing is high and print time is high too, but there are things you can do to cut down on both purge waste and printing time, like reducing purge amount and not having a prime tower.
The Anycubic Slicer Next will also allow you to purge waste into another object which is geat but the time it takes to print will more than likely double.
So are 3d multicolor printers worth buying ? It really depends on what you want to print and how fast you need to print and how much filament waste you dont mind losing.
3D Printing is advancing quickly and for me the way forward is to have multi printheads which are now coming onto the market but they are not cheap.
