The Death of Online Flash Games - Spi
For 25 years, Adobe Flash Player has graced the internet with thousands of great (and horrible) online flash games. The software ushered in an era of the internet dominated by the likes of CoolMathGames, Newgrounds, and fan-games of questionable quality. Millions of people grew up with these games. On January 1st, 2021, Adobe Flash Player will be shutting down forever, taking 25 years worth of games and history with it. All those old flash games will be lost for good, gone forever, with the best archival attempts only scratching the surface of the content that once dominated the web. In this Spi episode, Evan attempts to sift through the trash to find the gems worth saving. Hopefully his sanity will live to tell the tale.
