This book was written by the monk Jinul during the mid-Goryeo period to elucidate the methods of cultivating the Buddhist mind and to clarify what the mind is. It consists of one volume in one book. It is a woodblock print. Although the date and place of writing are unknown, it is presumed to have been written after 1198 (the first year of King Sinjong), based on the fact that the author quotes the Dahye Eorok (Record of Great Wisdom), which he read while at Sangmujooam Hermitage on Mt. Jiri at the age of 41.
