2021 Virtual Conference | Supporting and working with Immigrants in the American Theatre
Immigrants face many legal challenges to come, stay, and work in the United States, and the theater industry can take proactive steps to recognize and alleviate that burden, if it practices understanding, compassion, and commitment. In this panel, four immigrant theatermakers will share their own stories and the difficulties they’ve come up against during their journey, as well as the initiatives and entities that helped them, envisioning a path forward for gatekeepers to create welcoming environments for immigrants and integrate that work into their anti-oppressive initiatives.
