In a fiber environment, data transformed into light is transmitted through or travels down strands of glass the size of a single human hair. With this technology, there's little interference to hinder the travel of data, so it essentially has no limitations. This increases the power of the network exponentially and provides the pathway for amazing symmetrical speeds. When the download and upload speeds are identical, it also makes one gigabit available.
