Billericay School General Election Counting rehearsal 1964
Election Ballot Paper Counting instruction by Head Master John Goldwin at Billericay School 1964.
The election result in Billericay was then a indication of how the whole Country would vote!
I was asked by the local counsellor Mr A. Hatt, Clerk of the council to produce a movie of the run up to the election and the actual counting of vote, ITN News covered the event too!
The result was Harold Wilson narrowly winning the 1964 general election, Wilson saw an increased majority in a snap election in 1966.
