What Microsoft Fabric Means for the Power BI Community

The May Portland Power BI User Group virtual meetup addressed the name change hot on the heels of Microsoft's announcement, as well as some looming questions about what this exciting future means for this thriving ecosystem, particularly future topic discussions.
Power BI was the engine that enabled this all to happen. The final form was being able to bring all this together with Synapse, Delta, Power BI and stream analytics.
For some time now we’ve been trying to figure out how to unify the conversations around Synapse Analytics, and the Power Platform Suite. Do they deserve separate user groups to support these conversations?
Fabric resolved this dilemma for us, but also increased the scope of the conversations (and the audiences) significantly. You can expect future discussions to be more holistic, not just purely Power BI and data analytics, but also AI, data pipelines, and more.
The embrace of the Lakehouse architecture, and Delta within the Microsoft ecosystem is only the beginning.
