John Gray, award-winning columnist, author, and news anchor discusses his novels, his dogs, and his life as a broadcast news anchor and writer in a conversation with NYS Writers Institute Director Paul Grondahl.
His most recent novel, Chasing Rome, is the third book in his trilogy, following Chasing Manhattan (2021) and A Manchester Christmas (2020).
An Emmy Award-winning television journalist and lead anchor for Fox 23/ABC News 10, John Gray wrote a weekly column in The [Troy] Record and Saratogian newspapers for more than 20 years. He also writes a popular monthly column in Capital Region Living magazine.
He has won numerous awards for his television work and writing, most recently winning an Emmy Award. He has been awarded “Columnist of the Year” honors from both the Associated Press and New York News Publishers Association. He has also written three popular children’s books: Sweet Polly Petals (2020), Keller's Heart (2019), and God Needed a Puppy (2018).
