Female Common True Katydid With Its Round Wing Tips
I was at work Wednesday & this landed on the side of my neck. I threw it onto the ground then realized it was this weird type of Katydid with really rounded wing tips & beady, little eyes.
*This is a female & the curved part on the tip of its abdomen is her ovipositor that helps them lay their eggs onto sticks, leaves & into dirt.
I’d never seen this species of Katydid before so it was really strange to me. I took it back home & filmed these 3 short videos where it kept trying to climb onto my cell phone/ attachable macro lens.
