Niwang gong is an important alchemical concept associated with a specific state of the brain. This state can be characterized as irrevocable or immortal. It is formed through practical experience in the art of Daoist alchemy.
Niwang gong is a difficult concept to interpret; it is simultaneously a Palace (a section of the brain), a feeling, a generating device, and a form of concentrated effort. Niwang gong cannot be defined; it can only be developed. This is the Supreme Lord, capable of controlling everything; this is the Palace of the Brain, which takes control of all conditions of development and through which one can penetrate all realms.
The Supreme Lord possesses the power to penetrate all parts of our body; it is capable of controlling and perfecting all processes. Niwan Gong is also characterized by the experience caused by the effort generated within it. Without this effort, one cannot know the middle path, since the brain is not considered middle. The middle path is known through the middle.
