Scottish Ballet: Twice-Born - Trailer
Scottish Ballet presents two thrilling works from two of today’s most exciting dance-makers.
Dickson Mbi (UK) is an award-winning choreographer and world-renowned dancer in the Hip Hop dance community, whose collaborators include Robbie Williams, Black Eyed Peas, CHVRCHES and Russell Maliphant. His acclaimed popping skills are integral to the work that he creates today. In 2023, he won the Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement in Dance for his recent work Enowate. Scottish Ballet will premiere Twice-Born, Dickson’s first commission for the company.
Schachmatt (Checkmate) by Spanish choreographer Cayetano Soto had audiences on their feet at its world premiere. This quirky equestrian-themed ballet sees dancers moving across a giant chessboard. Former Ballet BC Resident Choreographer, Cayetano Soto is a bold creator with a unique voice in contemporary ballet. Soto has been commissioned by companies worldwide including Nederland Dans Theater, Stuttgart Ballet, Royal Ballet of Flanders, Compañía Nacional de Danza, and Czech National Ballet.
